Padma Buddha Family Wisdom Represented by Kalasiddhi
Kalasiddhi was a female Buddhist tantric practitioner who lived in the 8th century CE. She was a disciple of Yeshe Tsogyal and a highly accomplished practitioner of Dzogchen.
We find Kalasidhi in "The Life and Visions of Yeshe Tsogyal", a text written by Yeshe Tsogyal, who describes Kalasiddhi as a beautiful intelligent woman and a powerful tantric practitioner. Kalasiddhi is said to have been able to perform many miraculous feats, such as flying through the air and walking on water.
Kalasiddhi was a close friend and companion of Yeshe Tsogyal. The two women travelled together and taught Dzogchen. Kalasiddhi is one of the first women recognized as a terton or treasure revealer. Tertons have the ability to discover hidden teachings (terma) from the past in objects or within their minds.
Kalasiddhi's life and teachings are still studied by Buddhist practitioners today. She is a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism. She is a symbol of the power of women in the Buddhist tradition, a reminder that women can achieve great things on the spiritual path.
